Justin Sun Issues Strange Apology in Wake of Warren Buffett Debacle

Justin Sun, who is in San Francisco, made a very strange post on Chinese social media site Weibo today. Repeatedly apologizing for his recent “over-marketing,” Sun praised China’s brand of socialism.

He also praised Caixin, a publication which he had accused of libel the previous day:

“Caixin continues to uphold the public interest of social responsibility. Priority, let me see my limitations and smallness, I am sincere and fearful to communicate with Caixin.”

The Tron founder said he had stayed up all night thinking and regretting the recent antics in which he canceled his meeting with Warren Buffett due to kidney stones.

Like as not, the recent extreme downturn in the price of Tron has a lot to do with the man’s remorse.

Sun wrote, in part:

“I was very fortunate to catch up with the rapid development of socialism with Chinese characteristics in our country’s new era, and the development dividend of the global blockchain industry, coupled with the support of many seniors in the industry. […] Finally, I once again say to the media, elders, leaders, regulatory agencies, and the public who care about me, I sincerely say: Sorry!”

Responses to the post were largely cynical, with several people saying that Sun is just trying to whine his way back into China.

Justin Sun’s People Report He Is a Free Man

Reports circulated this week that Sun was wanted by Chinese authorities.

However, a spokesperson for Justin Sun told Yahoo! Finance today that there’s nothing preventing Sun from leaving or entering China.

“My understanding is that Chinese authorities would have to subpoena Justin and tell him he is a person of interest in an investigation for him to be placed on a border control list (going either way). Justin has received no such subpoena.”

Skeptics have pointed out that Sun appeared healthy in yesterday’s live-stream from San Francisco. Sun explains that he is feeling much better.
